I Hate Twitter

Let's talk about how what used to my favorite social media website. 

When I started on Twitter It was a nice little site where people could make neat little threads. Sure you would see and get into arguments with other people but things were relatively tame on twitter. Over 10 years twitter has slowly become a toxic cesspool where I find it hard to want to even post there. 

Some of the most foul things I've ever seen haven't been on TikTok which is the social media website people love to hate, but twitter. I wish twitter was a better platform but its turned into a place of negativity and hate. Anytime I would post anything postive would you believe I would loose followers lol XD. It could be something as simple as telling a girl she looks nice, saying congratulations, or telling people to love themselves. People don't like positivity on the website or maybe the people i surround myself with don't like me. 

I don't post much on twitter anymore. You can look at my account if you don't believe me it's just super depressing. I miss the days when twitter could be problematic but there were enough good people that you didn't care. Elon Musk's takeover of the website has been for the worse there has been a noticeable degradation in quality. 

Now I know what some of yall are going say go to Bluesky or Mastadon I tried and it's not the same. It was nice to see positive people on bluesky but idk the content just didn't hit. I feel for blue sky to work everyone has to move there. A lot of people said blue sky was wack but it's wack because the creators you follow aren't there. I feel people are way to fearful to be themselves on bluesky thus it feels like everyone is just being fake nice hoping to not get banned of the platform. I've seen people get banned of of bluesky for being conservative a lot and while I don't like conservatives I don't think that's great pr for the platform.

Not to mention, having a bunch of people that agree with each other is fun at first and even freeing. However after a while it starts to get old because there is no content that challenges you, or no hot takes. I'll be honest I don't HATE  all the toxic content what I hate is that Twitter has legit become more toxic than it usually was. What made twitter great is that you could meat positive people and have genuine discussion with people who had differing positions to you. Now you just get rage baited by some edgy team saying the N word =\. 

In conclusion though I wanted better for twitter but after the Elon Musk takeover it just became a worst place. I sadly don't have a solution truthfully for something to change people have to migrate together to a new app. It wouldn't surprise me if most people have moved to TikTok or just don't use social media. I'm starting to do that myself and hence why this website exists because 128 characters isn't enough to really say what I want to say.
